The Cartoonist Airs on PBS

Jeff Smith’s Boneville blog has posted that The Cartoonist will be airing soon on a few PBS TV stations. The Cartoonist: Jeff Smith, BONE and the Changing Face of Comics is a documentary by Columbus Ohio’sMills James media company.
The cool thing about this documentary for me is my wife and daughter have a small (and unexpected) cameo in it. My daughter is a huge Bone fan and Jeff is her favorite cartoonist (evidently I am #2). While waiting in line for my daughter to meet Jeff (at Ohio State in 2008) the documentary’s video crew interviewed Beth and Ginny. I had no idea it had happened since I stepped away to get us a couple of bottles of water (oh, the things that happen when I step away for a few minutes). I’m not sure Beth mentioned it when I got back and if she did, I promptly forgot it (we are married after all). About 8 months later, my friend Jennifer Oliver emailed and asked if Ginny had been interviewed on video about Jeff and Bone. I told her I didn’t think so but would ask (what do I know; I’m just her dad).
Here’s a screen cap of Ginny…

…and her drawing of Bone for Jeff.

So look for Ginny and Beth (and her temporal special effect) in The Cartoonist.
The airs dates are:
Thursday, December 10th at 8:30 pm on channel 15 WDSC in Daytona, Florida.
Sunday, December 13th at 5:00 pm on channel 36 MPTV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
