Lucky
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day (or as we like to call it in the States: Amateur Hour), I am once again posting the little movie that was never made. Lucky was a project of the ill fated Legacy Animation Studios, a group of Disney animators and artists trying to keep a studio going here in Florida after Disney management declared hand-drawn dead and closed the doors.
Lucky is only a story reel (originally boarded by myself, Broose Johnson and John Hurst) and, at this point, will probably never be made, although my wife and I still have hopes of making it a children’s book one day.
If you like, you can read the complicated story of Legacy Animation Studios and the production of Lucky here: http://www.luckyanimated.blogspot.com, but I would recommend just watching the little movie instead.

This is so appropriate for St. Patty’s Day. And I’m like the #1 fan of 2d hand drawn animation, so I know this would be great full fleshed out. I even love it enough as is…great great stuff.
Thanks Charles! It would have been a lot of fun watching veteran Disney animators bring a clover to life.
That was really great Eddie, and the storyboards are just beautiful.
Thanks Tom. I love the section that Broose did with the gum and the shoe. Great crew working on this.
That looks great! And the gruesome fate of those heckling clovers satisfies the horror lover in me. (Come to think of it, that’d be a great name for a band: “Ladies and gentlemen, Those Heckling Clovers!”)
That was great! Loved the Boston terrier scene. BTW — That lady must be the luckiest lady on the planet!
