3…2…1…Blast Off!
Well the day has finally arrived and, ready or not (and mostly “not”), here we go!
The first page of Red’s Planet has been posted and although I had planned to work ahead of schedule and have a comfortable inventory of pages waiting in the wings, it didn’t quite work out that way after all. But, as some Scotsman once said, “The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men, Gang aft agley,” which, in modern English means, “Pffft! Yeah, right!”
As I mentioned before, 2009 decided to get in one last kick and managed to take out my Powerbook with only hours to spare. Being my primary computer (and now without a logic board, which evidently you need), I found myself in a frazzle trying to find a replacement over the holiday weekend and finish up the first page of Red’s Planet as well.
But despite my misplaced optimism, do you think I intend to push back the launch yet one more time? Do you think I will fall into the web-cartoonist’s snare of grandiose plans and unrealistic goals before my first week has passed?! Nay (the Scotsman once again)! I will charge forth with courage and resolve —letting nothing stand in the way of my Strathmore and sable; my pencil and pen! I will slay the dragon of high expectations and the beast of underachievement and..uh…oh yeah, I will be cutting the posts from three days a week to a mere two. Just so you know.
Eh, what do you want? I’ve got a kid to feed!
So look for Red’s Planet on Mondays and Thursdays and please drop me a note to tell me what you think!

I like it already, Eddie! When’s the book coming out?! ;0)
OK. You have my attention. Is there a way to get e-mail reminders so I know to keep up?
Great art work, and a wonderful introduction page. Can’t wait to see more, and am really excited about this strip. The previews got me hooked, and I’m so ready to take this ride along with the other readers.
Hey everyone, for some reason when you click the comments link below the comic it sends you to this blog post instead. It’s beyond me to figure out and probably just a glitch in the latest WordPress update. If you click on the direct link to the comic page (http://www.redsplanet.com/comic/rp/pro/prologue-01/) you will be able to leave a comment there if you would like. It doesn’t matter to me — I’ll take your feedback whether it’s there or mailed to me on a cocktail napkin!
@John Read — Thanks John! LOL— Let me get a few chapters done and there will be a printed edition — I promise.
@Lon — Hey Lon, I don’t have an email list (I’m lucky to even be able to figure out how to post the thing!) but, you can subscribe to the RSS feed and it will download when ever there is an update.
@tmcelmurry — Thanks Todd! I hope it won’t disappoint.
